    How to get started?

Decision fatigue, procrastination, perfection, information overload…

Sometimes it is really hard to make a decision and to get started. What is the right answer? Is there a right answer?

We have easy access to so much information that it can be overwhelming, especially for those with personality types that need to know the answers to all their questions before proceeding.

I have been wanting to start this blog for nearly two years now, but there were just so many decisions to make – and I felt it needed to be done right from the start.

I read something about how you just need to start, not to worry about whether something is “perfect” and to change things as you go.

With that in mind, I decided to just start (well that was the idea anyway).

But there were still decisions to be made and I needed to talk through the options. I decided to use AI as a coach to guide me through the decision process to get another perspective. It really helped guide my thinking, but I still evaluated and refined the answers it gave – just as I would if I was talking through my decision with a person.

Beware: The challenge with having a coach with unlimited knowledge and without the need to sleep is that this process can lead to even more information overload.

If you choose to go on this journey with me, and not worry that things may not be perfect, my aim is to share some easy, practical ways you can use AI in your life.

(If you haven’t used an AI tool before, go to Start Here.)

Spend a few minutes trying this yourself.

    • Think of a decision you are stuck on
    • Open an AI tool
    • Paste in the AI Prompt
    • Ask one follow up question
    • Think about the suggestions

Copy and paste the prompt below into ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude or another AI assistant.

You are a life coach, experienced in guiding someone through making a decision. Your role is to use evidence based advice to help guide me simply through the steps to define my options, to consider the pros and cons of each, and to make a decision that will suit my situation. The goal is to simplify so do not overload or overcomplicate. Please start the process one step at a time.
